You hold in your hands one of the few publishing treasures in this world. It is a priceless one—a masterpiece—the product of hard work, of faith, of prayer, of experience. Glen Striemer has a most interesting story to tell and he has included some of it in this book. Fortunately, it is not a finished story, but a continuing dynamic experience of a man called by God, sent by God and still working for God. Glen began his ministry in 1984 and has never stopped—although he will admit that he has often thought of quitting, and regularly checked out other job opportunities. But always he ends up concluding that canvassing is still, by far, the best work opportunity in the world. He'll explain why! Glen has seen the best of times and the worst of times. He has enjoyed remarkable success as sales leader for three consecutive years in North America and the world field. His sales total over 1.75 million dollars to non-Adventist homes and we do not know of another LE with these lifetime sales totals. Yes, the best of times ... when his hopes for the future of publishing were great as he saw men and women coming in great numbers to take up the work. He has worked with the top leaders during these grand times. However, Glen has suffered through the worst of times, when on his back, neither the pain nor the bills would go away. And the worst of times when fellow workers left as church support was withdrawn and he found himself working all of southern Ontario alone, without leadership. Yet, he keeps on canvassing, he keeps on knocking for the Jesus he loves and serves. Glen is more than a salesman—he is a literature evangelist and has experienced the ecstasy of seeing some of the fruit of his labors. However, he and his faithful companion, Lorraine, plan to join a much larger group on the Day of Eternal Rewards. They are a great team! Together they have walked the high roads and they have been faithful on the low roads—and when they see Jesus they will say heaven was cheap enough, regardless of what it cost.
